1997 was a very hot, low yield summer in the Rhône Valley, so this wine needed this 25 year period to grow up a little! An outstanding concentration of fruit (blueberries and cassis) with tannins that have matured and softened considerably, complimented by leather and a stony minerality. This is a very big wine, but one which has finally reached its full potential.
